Dear Friends and Neighbors, Like
you, I believe Sammamish is a special place to live, with caring people and its own unique character. That’s why
I’ve enjoyed being involved in our community … and that’s why I ran for Sammamish City Council in 2007
and why I decided after numerous requests to run again in 2009. In the last election we came up a little short (376
votes). I want to thank all of you that supported me during the last campaign and voted for me this year to help make
a difference. The majority of Sammamish Citizens want positive change, and now with your help we are victorious in the
current election. Money Magazine in 2007
ranked American cities of similar size and named Sammamish 11th. This was an accomplishment for our city at
the time given the fact we were only 8-years-old (10-years today), but there is still room for improvement. My
goal is to make our city an even better place to live and raise a family, and provide the amenities that didn't allow our
town to place better when compared to other locations. I ran to make our community as dynamic as possible and to
improve our quality of life. I now look forward to helping to increase opportunities for everyone –
from parks and recreation facilities to a community and teen center where neighbors can connect and our youth have something
to do as well as place to enjoy and be a part of our exceptional community. Unfortunately, Sammamish was going
backwards according to Money Magazine that updated their rankings this year, and Sammamish has slipped to number
12. With your support going forward, we can work to help make Sammamish a top-ten in the United
States! In addition, there are several critical issues
I want to address that include reducing traffic congestion and providing better transportation, and partnering to
improve school facilities with amenities to better serve as neighborhood gathering places. Also, I want to make a
viable community/town center a reality with the the shops, services, and entertainment we all desire and the mix
of housing that is approriate for our area. Again, I thank all of
you that voted for me this election, and I appreciate the support of like-minded citizens that make up the majority of
Sammamish residents. Your help, support and vote will make a difference. I promise to listen to you and provide
the positive leadership that will make Sammamish the most desirable place to live in our area. All the best,
John James
