Amenities, Parks and Recreation Creating a dynamic place to live is essential to the cohesiveness of any community. Sammamish
residents have made it clear they would like more public facilities such as: a community/aquatic center, more sport fields,
parks, and recreational opportunities for everyone. I will work to make that happen, and to do so responsibly by encouraging
strategic/economic partnerships and strict economic oversight and accountability.

Fixing Traffic and Providing Transporation Reducing traffic congestion in a smart manner
by prioritizing and selecting wisely new infrastructure and setting aside funds to repair and improve existing roads
is good for everybody. I will lead city efforts to make sure that we need a project before it is approved, and to complete
necessary projects in a timely manner and hold city staff accountable for overseeing construction and making sure costs are
contained. I will also look to partner with other cities to influence county and state agencies to fix roads
and infrastructure that will improve traffic flow and seek transportation alternatives to help relieve gridlock
both inside and outside of our city limits.

Community / Town Center Creating a Viable Community & Town Center has been a goal, since serving as co-chairman
of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee made up of 15 individuals. It was unanimous among those citizens that the civic,
public, and commercial (that includes retail, office, restaurants, and entertainment) facilities all be located in one area.
I support the concept of driving to the community / town center and parking once and having all the amenities available in
one location. Also, the maximum residential densities proposed in certain areas need to be balanced with the possible traffic
impact and congestion it will cause on our already stressed infrastructure. As your voice on the Sammamish City Council, I
will work to provide leadership and make smart decisions regarding planning based on public input that doesn't lead to gridlock
of our roads and provides for the creation of a town center that meets our needs become a reality.
